Pumpkins! Pumpkins! Pumpkins!

This past Saturday we took a trip to Medina Texas to go to the Pumpkin Patch. Finally! I've been trying for about two weeks to go. Luckily it is by the lakehouse and that is where we were headed so it worked out great. It was about an hour and a half drive and Mason was ready to get out of the truck. Luckily he likes to sing so as long as Momma was singing "Peter, James and John in a sailboat...out on the deep blue sea" he was happy. I think Daddy had enough of the singing though.

It was such a gorgeous day. The highs were in the 70s and since we were in the hill country it felt wonderful. We arrived right around opening so it wasn't crowded yet. As soon as we paid we decided to go ahead and get the pictures over with and then let him wonder around. I was a little worried that he would be cranky because the event was during nap time, but he did amazingly well.

This year for Halloween he is the Sock Monkey. It was a hand-me-down from the Shaws which I really appreciate. He was the only one at the pumpkin patch dressed up and he received so many complements and "Ohhhs" and "Ahhhs". I am a little biased but he is one cute Sock Monkey.

He is so independent. We let him go and he just wandered all over the place without a care in the world. He enjoyed pushing his stroller. He seemed very pleased with himself about that accomplishment.

Mason enjoyed playing peek-a-boo with the pumpkin and scarecrow.

Mommy wanted to take more pictures with the different types of pumpkins.

They had a maze and Mason went all over the place in there. He enjoyed the freedom and picked out a pumpkin for himself.

Da!

DA!

DA DAH!!!

He was such a Happy Guy that day. He is now at that age where he is just so interested in everything. He wants to touch, feel and experience anything and everything he can get his hands on.

We then decided to go pet the pony. Daddy wasn't to sure about it. He didn't like the idea of all the germs.

After petting the horse we decided to start working our way back to the car. They have a pond and Mason decided he wanted to make a "B" line towards it. I thought he would slow down just to look, but he was almost at a full run. He wanted in the water! I had to chase him down. As you can see he didn't like me telling him "NO"

We went on the Fire Truck as well. That was more for Daddy I think then Mason. He was able to pet the Fire House Dog. He wondered around a bit more then picked out his final pumpkin. All in all it was a good day at the pumpkin patch.

"A happy little fellow sat on my fence one night
His smile was full and wide - a most amazing site!
I'll be your friend forever, we'll be happy as can be
For I'm your jack-o-lantern and you're just right for me!"

He did not want to let go of his pumpkin. I thought it was so cute that he held onto it all the way to the car. He was tired by this point. He didn't have his morning nap and it was getting time for lunch. We got back to the car; I changed him and gave him a snack and we were on our way back through Bandera to the lakehouse. We weren't even on the road five minutes and I turned around to look at him and this is what I saw.

He was so tired. This kid never sleeps in the car so this was something. We enjoyed our day and plan on doing it again next year.

Happy Halloween!
