So it has been awhile since I've posted anything. Between work and having a toddler it's hard to take the time to sit down and write anything. So here is what has been going on...
Mason started walking all over the place about a month ago. He started walking at Mooney's house and she was the first to see, which is a great memory. He looks like a drunk sailor when walking. He is exploring everything and even getting more aggressive too. We still have a bit of a temper and we are working on the punishment part. He is sensitive so when you get after him he'll stick his bottom lip out and cry.
We also started going to daycare once, maybe twice a week as a drop-in. Of course he screamed when I dropped him off which made me feel bad about it, but I figured the more he goes the easier it will get. I'm waiting for the day when he runs to the door and is excited to go; independence is a great thing. So I knew that he would get a little sick and he did after 2 days in daycare. What I thought was a cold later on turned into something else. I received a call from daycare stating that he woke up with a Temp of 104. So I told Ryan to bring him into work so we could take a look at him. Ryan wanted to take him home and check his temp again and give him some Tylenol, "No" I said "Just bring him in" But on the way he stopped at my brothers to help with the trailer. What made him take a detour on the way to the office, I don't know but I think it's a guy thing. Anyways it turned out he has a double ear infection. So we put him on Amox. Then we went back to the Dr. yesterday for his 15 month check up and a followup. He lost some weight due to not wanting to eat, but that's ok. I told the Dr. that I noticed a rash yesterday and it looked suspicious. So it turns out his ears are still red and he is allergic to Amoxicillin. Great! He's the first one in the family to have a drug allergy. I told Ryan he must get that from him ;) Now he is on another medicine so hopefully we can get better. It has been a week and a half so I think it's time to get well.
On another note my Grandmother (Mooney) passed away last week. The last month has been a little crazy around here. It all happened so quickly. She was in the nursing home for a week then went the Dr. on Monday, diagnosed with leukemia on Tuesday, they made the decision that she should go to hospice, then Thursday night she went to be with her Heavenly Father :) It may seem strange to some that I rejoice over this, but you have to understand that my family knew where she was going. This is not a tragedy but something to rejoice over! She is in heaven now praising God! How awesome is that? It is not to say that we aren't sad that she left us, but it isn't the end. I was able to see her the day before she passed and she was in and out of it, but no matter what her state she was praying and we prayed with her. She was ready to go. I am thankful for the life and the example she showed. I never heard her say anything hurtful about another and she showed us how we should live our lives for Christ by her example. She was extremely proud of her family. She had 3 children, 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren with twins on the way! What an amazing legacy that she leaves behind. I'll see her again someday. So know that we are saddened out of selfishness, but we truly rejoice in the life she led.
We found this in the back of Mooney's Bible and we all smiled after reading.
"God has blessed me over and over with family and friends.
My family will be with me in eternity. My mind cannot really fully grasp that, but I believe it!! I pray that the younger ones and those yet to be born will put their trust, their faith in Jesus.
Oh what a blessing.
Thank you Jesus."
