Mason is 8 Months Old!

Time sure does fly.  My 'little' boy is growing up so fast.  Believe it or not Ryan and I are already planning is First Birthday party.  It is only four months away! I think we are going to have a John Deere Party for him.  We first had to ask his cousin Travis if it was ok.  Travis has a passion for all John Deere things and we didn't want to take his thunder away.  He told me it was ok only if he was able to help pick stuff out and decorate....oh and open Mason's presents.  We'll see about that last part.

At 8 Months Mason is showing us his personality.  And boy is it a strong-willed and determined personality at that.  I wonder where he gets that from?  When he wants something he will let you know about it and you better have it for him right then and there.  He also has a thing about hitting and that just really started up this month.  His hits are hard too.  He hit Ryan pretty hard a few times just this past week.  I'm hoping that will pass.  I don't want to be that mom with the kid that goes around hitting others.

I went through all his clothes two days ago to organize, sort and label; just to make it easier for when we have another baby ;)  Not any time soon!  He is now wearing 12-18 month clothes!  My baby just turned 8 months just this week.  My brother says that we just make 'em big in this family.  He just barely fits into any of the 9 month clothing and most of those I had to put away.  We had to go on a shopping spree this past week just so he could have something decent to wear to church.  Since it has been cool we have been keeping him in his PJ's but now that it has been getting a little warmer we've been having to dig around to find something for him to put on.

Yesterday was such a gorgeous day that Ryan called on his way home from work saying that we were going to take Mason and Cooper to the dog park.  Luckily there is one that is only about 20 min. away.  Mason had such a blast as well as Cooper.  It was so funny to watch Mason with all the dogs.  He just thought it was so funny.  There was this Great Dane that Ryan loved that came sniffing around Mason.  If we had a small sattle Mason could have rode this dog.  He easily came up to my waist.  There were a few dogs that gave Mason some kisses.  Thankfully Mason just thought it was hilarious.  Cooper on the other hand is a loner and a weeny.  He would only play around with the puppies or very small dogs.  Any time a big dog came near him he would just hunker down.

Daddy and Mason

After the park we were going to go to Sonic, but Daddy forgot so we went to Dairy Queen instead.  Mason loved Daddy's Cookie Dough Ice Cream Blizzard.  He wasn't too happy when I stopped giving it to him.  He turned around and slapped me right in the chest with frustration.

We ended the day by going to pick up his porta crib from my Moms to take to my cousin Robin's.  My Mom and Dad are celebrating their 40 year anniversary in Vegas so my cousin is going to watch Mason for me for a few days.  Her daughter Sydney is so excited that 'Baby Mason' will be at her house to play.  It is so wonderful that I have the support of my family near me.  My parents live right around the corner, my grandmother lives across the street, my brother a field or two behind my and my Aunt, Uncle and cousin are around the corner as well.  Babysiting around here is easy to find.  We kind of rotate weeks between my brother, cousin and I.  And it's free too!

I'll try to post some video of Mason at the park later...don't quite know how to do that just yet.
